| David Walliams has very quickly established himself as one of the true modern greats of children's comic fiction. Titles such as 'Gangsta Granny', 'Mr Stink', and 'Billionaire Boy' have helped propel his reputation to the extent that for many parents his books are considered as 'buy on sight'. And rightly so! With his new book 'Ratburger' David has given us a plucky young hero (Zoe) who is faced with some rather dastardly villains. These include her slob of a step-mum, and of course Burt, the owner of a really quite disgusting burger van. And any book which has me chuckling away after only a few pages when I am famous throughout the land for never even cracking a smile will have normal people quite literally laughing their socks off. As such this book is sure to be enjoyed by anyone 8+ that is in possession of a sense of humour and a silly disposition. 8+ Reviewed by: John |
