Services to Schools
We offer a full range of services for the promotion of literacy and reading for pleasure at all key stages of the National Curriculum from nursery to secondary level, including :-
arranging author visits in schools and supplying stock for signings (advance notice is always advisable).
welcoming teachers who wish to select from stock or compile a 'wish list' of orders for future supply. After hours appointments can be arranged.
supplying books on a sale or return basis for school book week, parents' consultation meetings or 'on approval' for staff discussion and selection
talks by a member of staff to children and/or parents
welcoming and advising teachers and year group representatives selecting new books for classroom or library
welcoming and guiding Year 6 children making their personal choice of leavers' books
working with schools shadowing the annual Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Awards process, administered by CILIP (the 2007 shortlist will be announced on April 16th)
accepting and supplying your book orders by phone, email or fax
offering unbiased and knowledgeable advice on all aspects of book supply
